Panoramic cable car

You can easily access Hotel Montis via the CABLE CAR in Žekovec (the cable car is free for all hotel and apartment guests), which will take you directly to the reception in just 8 minutes. The Žekovec Cable Car has been an essential part of the Golte mountain resort for several decades. Its origins date back to 1970 when the first cable car was installed in this area. Initially, it was smaller and less powerful than today’s version, but even then, it provided visitors with easy access to the mountaintop.

Over the years, the cable car has been upgraded and expanded several times to accommodate an increasing number of visitors. Today, the cable car is a modern and safe device that offers a comfortable journey with stunning views.

The cable car’s lower station is located 17 km or a 20-minute drive from the Šentrupert highway exit towards Mozirje. At the lower cable car station (Radegunda 19 c, 3330 Mozirje), there are more than 1,000 organized free parking spaces and a parking area for motorhomes. Right next to the lower station, there are special parking spaces reserved for hotel and apartment guests.

In just 8 minutes, you will ascend an incredible 1000 meters, as it takes you from an elevation of 490 m straight to the hotel located at an altitude of 1,410 m, offering a magnificent view of the Savinja Valley. The cable car’s length is 3,265 meters, making it the longest cable car in Slovenia. The mass of one carrying cable is 45 tons, and the cable’s diameter is 56 mm.

Under normal weather conditions, you can also reach the hotel by car, but the journey is extended by 13 km. The road has a steep incline, many sharp bends, and the last 800 meters of the road are gravel. The number of parking spaces at the top is limited, so we recommend using the cable car. The parking behind the hotel and in front of the apartments is intended for luggage delivery only and is free for hotel and apartment guests for one hour.
